About the Jamaica Legion
The Jamaica Legion, established in 1949, serves as a beacon of support and remembrance for ex-servicemen and women who have bravely served their country. As an affiliate of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League (RCEL), the Legion works to safeguard the welfare, interests, and legacy of veterans. Through initiatives like the National Poppy Appeal Drive, the Jamaica Legion raises funds to provide financial, medical, and social support for over one hundred veterans and widows across the island. The Legion also manages the Curphey Home, ensuring that veterans have a dignified place to live during their twilight years. The motto, “Service Not Self,” embodies the Legion's unwavering commitment to honouring those who fought for freedom and providing for their needs today.
